Leoncel canyon
A canyon described as the "jungle" of the Vercors
Half-day (6 hours of activity)
Approach hike: 1 hour
Time spent in the water: 4 to 5 hours
Return: 10 minutes
Difficulty: Intermediate
Suitable for children aged 12 and up, this canyoning route remains challenging due to its length and the approach hike. It’s ideal for learning rappelling and canyoning in general.
Description: The Léoncel canyon boasts an exceptional natural environment, giving it a tropical feel. The tufa waterfalls that punctuate the route are both its unique feature and its fragile nature. This is why we prefer day trips to this canyon, in order to minimize our environmental impact.
This trip includes numerous rappels down magnificent waterfalls, up to 25 meters high, jumps of varying heights (never mandatory), and many small slides. A few surprises are scattered along the way, making it a fun and varied experience.
Activity Itinerary:
At the parking lot, your instructor will provide you with all the necessary equipment (more information on the equipment provided and what you need to bring can be found here).
We will then hike for one hour to the canyon entrance on a beautiful trail overlooking cliffs with striking shapes. We will have a picnic lunch at the canyon entrance.
Then the descent begins. On the program : several rappels up to 25 meters, jumps, slides, and a few surprises.
Once finished, you can reach the parking lot in 10 minutes.
Located 1 hour from Grenoble, 50 minutes from Valence, and 2 hours from Lyon.
